On November 5, 2005 my beautiful Princess Pandora lost her fight with kidney failure...

The house is not the same without her - the boys miss her, the dogs miss her, and I miss her terribly.  She was much too young...

When I can write without weeping I will compose a suitable Memoriam to this lovely lady who was so very special...

You've all met Pandora. Her baby picture graces the start page for this site which was named in her honour.

Pandora (Panda for short) came home with me from the animal shelter as a 3 month old kitten.  And what an absolute little horror she was as a baby - hence the nickname "Pandamonium"!

She was into (and on to) everything.

Her first Christmas was an experience I hope never to repeat!

All my floor plants had to have plastic bags over the soil to keep her from throwing it all over the floor.  (But she never tried to use them as a litter box.)

Why is there a tree in here?

The hanging plants were regularly pruned when she jumped up to grab them, and the toilet paper was always unrolled and in a heap on the floor...

I'm so special...

She was a very small cat with a very large "I'm something special" attitude and a purr you could hear from across the room.

Never a "cuddle kitty" she was nonetheless very affectionate in her own independent fashion.  All her childish transgressions were easily forgiven because she was such a sweetie.

It's hard to be angry with a purring cat!

She is still a sweetheart, but like a fine wine, she has mellowed with maturity.

Now 5 years old, with a coat like satin,  she still has the big purr and the attitude and she still has an independent nature, but she has given up her childish ways and become very dignified (though not above relapses into moments of frenetic kittenish behaviour).  She is now frequently referred to as "Princess Pandora".

She has graciously welcomed and befriended our newest feline family members, and seems to enjoy having someone to play with.

Princess Pandora - 3/5/02

She rules the house with a velvet paw and is my very good friend...
